In addition to treating patients, prevention and education are very important pillars of our foundation. Prevention is better than cure. In many countries, patients come to the dentist in the morning and wait there until they can be helped (sometimes not until the end of the day). In many places there are more than 50 patients waiting like this. How great would it be to educate these patients through a professional animation video?! In the clinics where we work, we try to take this into account when building the waiting room. The video is currently being shown in four places.
In the countries where we work, the official language is usually French or English. This language is not spoken by most people, only learned at school. Especially the poorer population with little education and in remote areas only speaks one of the many local African languages. That is why it was decided to make a video without spoken language.
The video is also used to support oral prevention lessons. This is done weekly for a group of patients at the aid organization Mercy Ships.
